The Art of Reconsidering, Mercury Retrograde
Beyond the usual Mercury retrograde predictions, a reflection on questioning our assumptions, finding clarity in communication, revisiting old perspectives, and choosing more consciously where we place our attention.
WITHIN. AROUND. BEYOND.

Last week, two of my identity verification apps stopped working, leaving me unable to access my banking system. My Instagram account was suspended until further notice, pending an investigation. Meanwhile, my website was experiencing technical problems, and communication with support wasn't getting me very far.
Quite a collection of interruptions.
I remember smiling to myself.
I see. I see.
It was clear to me that these things had been moved out of the way for the moment. My attention was needed elsewhere.
So I turned to my work as an Earth Grid Keeper, tending to the Earth's energetic field in service to the collective.
The technical problems could wait.
When I finished, my Instagram access had returned. The website support team had begun responding more constructively. And within the following days, my identity apps were working again too.
Things were moving and flowing once more.
What stayed with me was not so much the disruption itself, but the clarity I had in the middle of it.
I didn't need to solve everything immediately. I knew where my attention belonged.
And perhaps this is another way to approach Mercury retrograde.
Instead of fearing what might go wrong, we might use this period to reconsider how we respond to what is happening around us.
Take an unfinished conversation.
Perhaps the words were spoken, but the timing wasn't right. Perhaps neither person felt truly heard, or there was something in the message we weren't ready to receive.
Returning to that conversation doesn't have to mean repeating ourselves more loudly or insisting on a particular outcome. The same words may land differently today. Or we may finally hear something we missed before.
Clarity can take different forms.
Sometimes it arrives when we recognize what matters most, even while everything around us seems to demand our attention.
Other times, it comes when we revisit something familiar and discover that our understanding has changed.
The situation may be the same. The words may even be the same.
But we are listening differently.
Perhaps Mercury retrograde doesn't need to be a period we approach with apprehension.
Perhaps we can make use of it.
To reconsider what we thought we knew, return to what deserves another look, and recognize what has been quietly asking for our attention all along.

Mercury retrograde has quite a reputation.
Miscommunication, delays, technology refusing to cooperate. We hear so much about what could go wrong that we sometimes forget to consider what this period might offer.
Although Mercury only turned retrograde on October 24, its pre-shadow period began on October 4. And I was already feeling it.
